The most obvious port of call for a school trip related to the History of Science in general would be the Science Museum, London. However, there are also a number of regional centres relatively accessible by schools located in the north, west and east (listed below).
To identify museums concentrating on aspects of science and technology teachers could consult the Museums Yearbook: including a Directory of Museums and Galleries of the British Isles (London: Museums Association, 2001-) or the museums section of the Education Yearbook (London: Longman, for the Association of Education Committees, 1979-) which will be available in public libraries.
